Adoption Writing Workshop

Anyone who is in the Adoption Community understands there are so many Adoption issues to deal with–abandonment, rejection, identity, loss, grief, belonging, home, family, culture, and race. These workshops will use writing as a way to process, let go of and finally heal some of these issues we’ve either held on too tightly to, or don’t know any other way to release them. Lost Lit believes that the very act of writing is a healing and cathartic act.

    What to Expect?
By using the Amherst Writers & Artists method, you’ll be guided through prompts that will specifically address common adoption issues of loss, grief, belonging, home, family, identity, culture, and race.

These workshops are most beneficial for those in the adoption triad, or who make up the adoption community (Birth families, Adoptive Parents, Adult Adoptees). We do welcome writers who are touched by adoption, by extension, such as family members (siblings, spouses, romantic partners) friends or allies of anyone in the adoption triad.

Disclaimer: Please be clear, this is not therapy in a Clinical sense. While there is no denying the healing and theraputic benefits of writing, at the end of the day, this is a writing workshop. That being said, you do not have to call yourself, or even believe you are a writer. But you do have to be willing to write. And having an open heart, open mind never hurt either.

At this time, there are no Adoption Writing Workshops planned. Please check back for updates or EMAIL HERE if you’re interested.
